Vietnam War film Portrayal
Different filmmakers have created movies based on the understanding they have of the Vietnam War. For instance, the film ‘the thin red line’ illustrates both the family roles of the soldiers and their commitment to save their comrades. When the soldiers are sent to Vietnam, they do not expect to encounter superior Vietnamese. After losing most of their comrades, the remaining soldiers fight in order to save themselves and their partners. Most people expected that the soldiers were sent there to fight for their country. The viewers also understand the circumstances soldiers had to work under in order to return home safe or alive after a mission in Vietnam. As mentioned earlier, some soldiers were traumatized by the experience and began experiencing mental disorders.
