This rate of growth damages the natural resources and ecosystems since people never have time to concentrate on balancing the effects that the globalization is causing to the environment. Natural areas become most affected by urban growth because they comprise the highest concentration of the endemic species. About 8% of the vertebrates’ species endangered due to the rapid urban development of which the number continues to rise which means that the percentage will also rise (Allen, 2009). Another threat that the development is causing to the natural resources is the rate of expansion. When cities are being developed, they are also increasing in size; this means to get the cities expanded, more resource extraction will be experienced. The winners of the economy can be described as great economies that have a high rate of GDP (Jensen, 2017).

The losers of the economy are not the poor, but rather they are the newly vulnerable members of the middle class who identify the additions from the market modifications have gone excessively to the top of the revenue circulation. Global citizens have a task of solving some of the world’s great problems; environment and social matters are part of what global citizens have a task to solve the problems arising in them. The world’s natural resources are being damaged by globalization that is increasing at a high rate. The global citizens have a responsibility of ensuring that there is a balance between the growth of the cities and the maintenance of the resources (Soma, 2016). Soma, Katrine, et al.
