Operations Management in Goods and Service giving companies
The main goal of a goods producing company is to produce goods which are not only of high quality but also highly identical (Zikmund et al, 2013). This requires the production cycle to have homogeneous procedures. On the other hand, service providing companies customize their services so that each customer gets services that specifically and exclusively meet his/her needs. Besides, all the goods are wrapped in a uniform version while the same service may be provided differently to different customers. In addition, operations management in goods producing companies largely involves the operations managers being in full control because he/she carries the greatest responsibility for the volume of the goods produced.
