Theologians Moltmann and Pannenberg are some of the significant figures who indicate several similarities as well as well as differences in their distinct approaches to the theology of hope. Both theologians Moltmann and Pannenberg emphasize on eschatology which is a branch of theology that looks at the historical events of the human race. They both share a single belief in the Trinitarian comprehension of God in the development of their theological philosophies. Moltmann is however viewed as being more practical on the world realities and experiences of the human life as well as concept of the Trinity story about God’s nature(Harvie, 149). In his theology, he believes in God’s promise to act in the future like He has done in the past.

Pannenberg on his part shares majority of these perspectives on the theology of hope. His approach was among the systematic theology that involved the eschatological origin that focuses on hope. This theologian emphasizes that the resurrection is the beginning of a new era in mankind. Pannenberg however differs from Moltmann in that he is greatlyinclined to the legitimacy ofthe resurrection of Christ as truly an event of history through which Jesus underwent through an eschatological change. The change is perceived as the hope and ultimate destiny for the mankind(Hallanger, 128). Resurrection on the other hand overpowers death and earns the dead eternal life. It is thus the end of history. Despite the significant differences in various perspectives, these two theologians centre their views on the significance of Christ who is the ultimate symbol of the promise of God regarding the future.
