It is estimated that by the end of the century, more than a half of the existing species of plants and animals will have been extinct from the face of the earth (Wilson, Edward 270). The various researches on the biodiversity have shown the anticipated dangers in the future of the ecosystem and the advancement of human life; this gives a paradoxical statement of doom and success. New Effects on Nature The book by Edward Wilson on the guideline to save planet poses the best questions on the effects of development on the environment. It questions the possibility of whether Human being can live in the world without having negative effects on the surroundings which form the ecosystem. As a learner and expert in Biology, he explains the human activities such as consumption and firming and their effects on the environment.

Some of these species have negative effects on soils that may hinder other species to thrive. Habitat is destroyed by the species which may encroach the lakes. We should not deforest blindly but carry out planned harvesting while replanting on the harvested grounds. This will save the earth from destruction. We should set aside perculinary taxes to be imposed on those polluting the environment in form of pigovian taxes. Conservation of the nature will create jobs and boost economies by diverting unnecessary economic recessions (Wilson, Edward 743). Water is life, when the catchment areas are conserved, life will blossom from the land and in the ocean.
