For your second essay

Literary Analysis 2 For your second essay, you will write about two of the short stories we have read; you may not write about the same short story you used in Literary Analysis 1 unless you get instructor approval first. Ultimately, you will come up with your own focus for this essay; however, your essay must show how the two short stories chosen are in conversation with one another. Your final essay should be 6-8 pages, double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman. For this second paper, I want to see that you can make your own argument about the text while using contemporary sources that are not related to the text(s) you are writing about. You should try to limit yourself to no more than 5 outside sources. Only two of the fives potential sources you use can discuss the short stories specifically. This means that as you formulate your argument, you need to think about the theme/central topic the stories share and find articles that discuss that topic. For example, if you want to write about masculinity in two short stories, then you'd need to find articles that discuss ideas of masculinity. Your essay should have the following parts: An introduction with a thesis statement that makes an argument about the chosen works. You should build to your thesis, so your thesis is the last thing the reader sees in your introduction Ways to build to your thesis include: Use a quote that relates to the topic/argument of your paper Use a quote from the text that you don't intend to use later in your paper Tell a story that relates to the topic/argument of your paper Offer a brief summary of the works before moving to the argument Body paragraphs (more than three -- we are beyond writing five paragraph essays ☺) Each body paragraph should begin with an argument that helps you prove your thesis. To be an argument, the topic sentence has to give you something to prove; it cannot be a plot fact. The best topic sentences will make a claim about both works. Topic Sentence that does not make an argument: Papa Eugene is Catholic. This is not an argument because the author tells us this fact within the text. Topic Sentence that does make an argument: Papa Eugene's violent adherence to his faith mirrors the violence present in Nigerian culture. This is an argument because it requires you to interpret Papa Eugene's practice of religion but also how Adichie portrays Nigerian culture. You have to prove/show how you see that Papa Eugene violently adheres to his faith as well as how Nigerian culture is filled with violence at this time. The author doesn't come out and tell us this information; rather, she writes the novel in a way that allows us to interpret this. Evidence from the text and outside sources to support your point As a general rule, you should use two pieces of textual evidence per paragraph to support your points. You need to introduce the quotes and explain how they support your point. For examples on how to do this, see the Integrating Quotations Handout as well as the "Annoying Ways People Use Sources" video. Cite the author's name and page number for every quote (MLA format) A conclusion that wraps up your argument in a creative way. A Works Cited page (MLA format) Remember, the great thing about literature is that it is always alive, so be sure you write your essay in present tense!

The very essence of othello jealousy essay
We guess that you won’t deny that there’s nothing more evident in Shakespeare’s Othello, than jealousy. It feels like the tragedy «Othello» was born to portray jealousy and show what this powerful feeling did with the play’s two main characters: Othello and Lago. The feeling fully corrupts their lives and even destroys the lives of their closer pals. So, as you see we can’t pass jealousy by, it really deserves attention. That’s why you’re writing an othello jealousy essay. Othello actually represents how jealousy, especially its sexual variety, is one of the most destructive and corruptive of human emotions. That’s jealousy, which makes Lago work on Othello’s downfall. With the help of jealousy Lago successfully kindles Othello’s passions. Additionally, Bianca and Roderigo demonstrate jealousy at various times in the tragedy.
The business strategy of asian paints
The business strategy of AP has been on the basis of acquiring a series of short-term competitive advantages by adopting measures that raised the Cost of doing business for those its competitors by raising the hygiene element in the business. So far, Asian Paints has been using its distribution power and logistical efficiency to realize this advantage. The benefit obtained by leveraging on circulation durability is short-lived and ultimately imitable. In addition, AP has generated such a considerable network that getting incremental gain out of enhancing the circulation network could be very hard. The next rational step for AP to consider to gain competitive edge would be through either route control or through occupying headspace. AP should make an effort to increase the window of competitive advantage by using Marketing as a tool to acquiring a competitive edge.
