The organization operates with the aim of delivering affordable and quality products to the customer in close proximity. Opening branches in different locations have enabled the firm to take its products and services close to the people (Ciravegna, 4499). Application of the 4P's marketing strategy has enabled the company to remain highly competitive in its industry of operations. For example, with low prices, many customers become attracted to the products and services delivered by the corporation. The strategic location of the stores has also enabled the firm to take its goods and services near customers who no longer struggle or incur expenses to incur them. The function-based structure, on the other hand, divides employees into functional groups that help them in accomplishing different tasks.

This is in form of departments where every department deals with specific operations. For example, the information technology department handles all activities related to systems and connections of the computers in the firm. The structure enables employees to specialize in their areas of operations thus making the company move towards its achievement of goals and objectives. Information system design Walmart is well known for its use of innovations and other forms of technology to facilitate business operations. This implies that the managers work together with other stakeholders in developing designs that will facilitate the improvement of organizational operations. The management of Walmart also funds the operations that lead to the development and maintenance of systems. Since there is the high rate of technology advancement in today's business environment, the management ensures that it has the right workforce which will deliver quality in the activity of developing the right technology for its business activities (Sanders, 26).

The company's leadership is therefore committed to the delivery of quality systems that will have a positive impact on business operations. Through funding and provision of other resources required to deliver quality systems, the management plays an important role. Risks addressed In the process of implementing the information systems, the company had to address a number of risks which would affect the outcomes of business activities using the information systems. For example, security risks and threats had to be considered as they remain the major cause of failures in companies where not addressed. Some of the security threats that may affect the way in which business activities take place include privacy risks, hacking and malware. When the privacy of the stakeholders is not protected, it implies that a firm becomes ineffective so that it does not meet the demands of the customers (Williams, 7).

Also, security risks and hacking may affect the data and information used in a company to make its business operations successful. Monitoring the activities of the workers in the systems also makes it possible to reduce instances of security threats affecting the business activities. Problems encountered Some of the problems which the firm faced in its implementation process included some resistance from stakeholders who had not seen the big picture of the advantages associated with the use of IT systems. The firm had to use a lot of funds in making the system IT project successful and allocate more resources to meet the deadlines. However, the company overcame these problems through proper planning which facilitated the efficiency of resources and effective utilization of the allocated funds.
