Leadership is not about being served but instead, it is about serving those who are around us and in turn, they will serve us. This is the area I take pride in and it is my major form of leadership (Boone and Makhani, 83). Through their wide practice, servant leaders acquire a wide range of skills, attitudes, and behaviours that aid in their leadership roles. There are strengths that come with this style of leadership; listening is one of such strengths. A leader has their own goals that they want to attain in their career journeys. One of my greatest goals in this leadership career is to show the people around me that it is not destructive for leaders to give up a part of their powers.

Autocratic leaders have always held to power and made decisions without involving other parties. This form of leadership is good when an organization needs to take a drastic, immediate change; however, it is better if leaders gave up some of their powers. Delegating roles and giving up powers makes those around you feel involved and it is one way to attain better results as a leader. I value my own values more than those of others. If I believe in something I go for it strongly and unrelentingly and this is what is required of a leader. I do not let the views of other people determine how I carry out my roles. When making decisions, many people will support your ideas yet other will not.
