Alice Walker Essay
Not only has she shared in the reforms of the American Culture but has shown a significant contribution to the shadowy rhetoric of the government in the past. Born in 1944, Alice was the youngest daughter in the family. Her mother worked as a maid in Georgia, and as results her upbringing was humble. In a family of eight children, it was a significant challenge growing up as well as making out of that penury. At the age of eight, she was short on her right eye by a BB pellet. This saw the beginning of the publication of many of her poems as well as work. She is a champion of black rights which forms most of her work (Biographer). These themes also carry a heavy emphasis on the emancipation of other marginalized groups such as the LBGTQ community, women as well as general civil rights.
