The Ramifications of Pride in Little Goodman Dark brown by Nathaniel Hawthorne

Young Goodman Brownish" is a moral history that is informed through the perversion of a religious head. In "Young Goodman Brown", Goodman Brown can be a Puritan minister who enables his high pride in himself hinder his relations with the city after he meets with the devil, and triggers him to live the life span of an exile in his own community.

"Young Goodman Brown" commences when Faith, Brown's wife, asks him never to go on an "errand". Goodman Dark brown says to his "like and (my) Faith" that "that one night I have to tarry from thee." When he says his "love" and his "Faith", he's speaking with his wife, but he's also speaking with his "faith" to God. He's venturing in to the woods to meet up with the Devil, and by doing this, he leaves his unquestionable faith in God along with his wife. He resolves that he'll "cling to her skirts and abide by her to Heaven." That is a good example of the excessive satisfaction because he feels that he can sin and meet the Devil as a result of this promise that he designed to himself. There exists a tremendous irony to the promise since when Goodman Brown comes home at dawn; he can't look at his wife with the same faith he previously before.

When Goodman Brown finally satisfies with the Devil, he declares that the reason why he was late was because "Faith retained me back awhile." This statement has a dual meaning because his wife actually prevented him from being promptly for his ending up in the devil, but his faith to God psychologically delayed his meeting
