From Good to Evil in Macbeth

In the famous play Macbeth written by Shakespeare, the author shows a transformation of the main character from good to evil. Basically, it’s a story about a shocking transformation of Macbeth who is described as a noble hero at the very beginning. This shocking change is portrayed through the first acts because he turns out to be an evil tyrant in the end. To prove this important transformation, the writer first establishes Macbeth as a local hero for readers.

He is often described as someone brave and a strong fighter. Many people call Macbeth heroic in the first acts, and these descriptions prove that he is honorable, noble, and brave at first. He is also a valiant warrior who fails to withstand a temptation. This is how Shakespeare shows how even noble heroes may fall from their grace. In Macbeth’s descent into evil, he still retains many of his excellent traits. For example, even his wife claims that he is too kind to do the things necessary to become a king.

The author also proves this contrast in other scenes in this play. For instance, Macbeth makes a soliloquy because he has doubts about murdering the king. The main reason is that Duncan trusts him both as his friend and a guest. Macbeth accepts the fact that he is a good king so that many people will be sad after his death. He seems to believe in karma because he thinks that what goes around will come back around. Macbeth suggests that if he kills the king, someone will kill him too. Besides, he doesn’t want to convince himself that this killing is a good thing.

The author borrowed certain details from earlier authors when writing this famous play, but he made certain changes in its revised version. When killing Duncan, Macbeth seems to have doubts first, but he finally agrees to this murder. He shows many signs of his guilt, including seeing his blood-covered hands. Pay attention to the scenes that describe how the natural word reacts to his actions.

First, the author establishes Macbeth as a brave and noble hero in a number of soliloquies, opinions, rewards, and so on. He reveals many inner feelings and ideas that prove that Macbeth acknowledges his crimes. He also shows many signs of regret and guilt, and these facts prove that this character is still a bit honest, despite turning into an evil man. Shakespeare describes how people’s aspirations and ambitions can lead them into selfishness and evil.
