For many centuries, the main purpose of women was the continuation of the family. The woman acted exclusively as the guardian of the home, while all kinds of contact with the outside world were implemented by the man. This, naturally, gave the men the right to consider a woman much lower in her status, therefore, and treat her accordingly. But in our time of technological progress, scientific discoveries, and feminism, the situation has radically changed. A woman in a modern society has a completely different status and vocation. She has other values and needs that make it necessary to reconsider the views on the female role in today’s world.
As it was already mentioned, the role of women in modern society is no longer limited to the fulfillment of household chores, caring for children, their upbringing, and serving a legitimate spouse. Today, such a position is considered obsolete, and women who are still choosing it are perceived as supporters of conservative beliefs who almost voluntarily surrender themselves to slavery to a man.
In fact, this approach is erroneous in specific situations, when a representative of the weaker sex sees her vocation in the preservation of family values and does not seek to separate her own achievements from the success of her spouse. After all, the incarnation of personal ambitions, career growth, and the status of independence at least financially attracts not everyone to this day. Many women do not make these criteria a priority, preferring to serve the family wholeheartedly.
But here comes another extreme, because the position of a woman in modern society today is seen not only as a housewife, faithful wife, and a good mother. Women are told that in life the main thing is not a strong family, but a stable social status. Therefore, before you devote yourself to marriage, you need to stand firmly on your feet and be financially independent.
It turns out that the situation of women in the modern world is first of all achievement of success in work, career growth, material independence, and only then the status of the wife and mother. Thus, there is a so-called reassessment of values, which in turn leads to a rethinking of the importance of the family and marital relations in the life of the women.
Due to the fact that the social role of women in modern society has undergone radical changes in recent decades, naturally, the status of women in today’s reality also changes. Psychologists are inclined to consider the following main categories of women: leaders, careerists, housewives, and women of free professions.
