Animal Farm - Dystopian Novel

As the story in ‘Animal Farm’ progresses, it becomes more and more evident that there is an inequality on the farm. The author shows the pigs as the cleverest animals, so naturally, it allows them to be responsible for the well-organized work on the farm.

It seems to be that Orwell wrote just a simple story about the animals, but it is not as simple as in can seem. There are lots of situations in this story when the pigs get an advantage over the other animals. For example, in the beginning of the story, immediately after the Rebellion was carried out, the milk of the cows and the bumper windfall of the apples were harvested and taken by the pigs for their own consumption. Later the author shows that the pigs took up the residence in the house of the farm, it was announced that the pigs would get up in a half an hour later in the morning. George Orwell uses the animal farm as an allegory with the help of which he demonstrates the psychological foundation of the revolution, its processes and the ironical elements of the oppressive regime by the new revolutionary order. And in my essay, I want to explain why this novel is defined as the dystopian one.

There are some key terms which are involved in the statement that has to be explained before the accuracy of the statement can be ascertained. By the way, firstly Animal Farm is described as an allegory; it is a novel of the multiple levels of the meaning. On the first level, George Orwell describes so moving account of the farmyard battle between the neglected animals and unjust, greedy people. Delving down further into the meaning and the main plot of the book, the animals from the farm and events which take place there serve as different symbols. This second stage describes the animals on a new level, and it can be seen that the events and animals have the certain parallels in the Russia which was ruled by Stalin. Even the minor characters of the Orwell’s novel symbolize the relevance with the history of Russian Federation.

One more mentioned term which is considered to be the key one is the description of the disjunction between what the audience would expect and what really happen in the real life. George Orwell uses the certain type of the iron while writing his ‘Animal Farm’ referred to as dramatic irony. The author takes the full use of what the animals from the farm understand and what the audience, as well as the readers, understand the situation which takes place at the animal farm.
