The Complicated Issue of Death Penalty

These days, there are still many people who argue whether death penalty should be allowed or abolished. This subject keeps raising a range of hot debates and discussions all over the world. Many people support its complete abolition, while others are for its legalization, and they all present their strong evidence and arguments. Some people also support the legalization of death penalty, but only under specific circumstances.

Many citizens agree that death penalty is quite a fair punishment, but others claim that it must be fully abolished because it’s an inhumane act. They claim that 2 wrongs can’t make any right killing, and this kind of punishment can’t correct the harsh crimes committed. Besides, the proponents of death penalty argue that it keeps deterring other criminals who have intentions of committing serious crimes in the near future.

This execution eliminates criminals, so it guarantees that they will never commit any crimes in the future. This reasoning is quite logical, but it can’t represent any factual evidence to prove others that death penalty results in the reduction of crime rates. That’s because most of those people who tend to commit serious crimes are psychotics who don’t think about the consequences of their illegal actions when committing their wrongdoings. The number of murder crimes is not reduced even if they’re faced with the risk of death penalty.

It’s all about the punishment of criminals of execution that is carried out legally against them if they convicted any capital crime. Those people who support it may argue that it deters further murders and other awful crimes, while others who are against death penalty claim that it’s inhumane and it doesn’t help the modern society solve any major problems. They also suggest that this punishment can be substituted by a life sentence in the prison.

According to the latest studies and findings, death penalty doesn’t influence murderers, so they don’t think about it before killing and committing other serious crimes. Another interesting fact is that the states that don’t use this form of punishment actually have lower murder rates compared to others. This is what offers more information for hot debates and arguments between both supporters and people who are against death penalty in the US. Criminals are severe alcohol and drug users or abusers, so they don’t think as normal people.

These days, there are still many people who argue whether death penalty should be allowed or abolished. This subject keeps raising a range of hot debates and discussions all over the world. Many people support its complete abolition, while others are for its legalization, and they all present their strong evidence and arguments.
