How Boys Develop Masculinity through Sports

When it comes to the ways how many boys develop their masculinity via sports, I can share my own experience. As an 18-year old student and athlete, I’m lucky enough to witness an important role played by sports in developing this significant characteristic in many young men nowadays. Basically, masculinity is all about the qualities that are commonly attributed to ordinary men, including their fearless attitude, strength, boldness, and others.

Many of those young men who participate is some sports are often influenced to show a range of expected masculine qualities of other man in the modern society. The main concept of masculinity first emerged at the early stages of the industrial revolution because of the fast progress of technology. I think that I have this kind of masculinity because of such important elements as effective teaching that comes from my talented coaches. That’s because one of their basic messages is rewarding aggressive and talented athletes.

My coaches are just like many others because they set the right tone for children’s lives who need to demonstrate their masculinity to all fellow teammates and their opponents. I think that developing this basic characteristic through sports is an integral part of building a strong character for any young boy who needs to transition into his manhood successfully. Of course, there are some people who may disagree with this statement, but it’s hard to deny that masculinity is an important element for any man who enters his adulthood and becomes a husband or a father.

First, sports programming often has a great impact on kids because they start believing that those who give up their bodies for a team or play with pain are often portrayed as true heroes. For instance, when it comes to such popular sports as baseball, pitchers are those who pitch even though their shoulders are hurt. They are also portrayed as courageous and tough on TV, and this is what encourages many young boys and men give up their bodies as it helps them prove their personal masculinity.

Finally, men are becoming more and more notorious for their masculinity, and it’s often labeled by changing ideals and societies. It can be easily developed by young boys through their participation in sports. This basic characteristic helps them become real men in the future, and that’s why its proper development is important.

When it comes to the ways how many boys develop their masculinity via sports, I can share my own experience. As an 18-year old student and athlete, I’m lucky enough to witness an important role played by sports in developing this significant characteristic in many young men nowadays.
