Fundy National Park is a Cultural Heritage

Fundy National Park of Canada was found in 1948 and it was New Brunswick's first national park. Fundy National Park is situated on the Bay of Fundy, near the village of Alma, New Brunswick. The Park demonstrates a coastline that rises up to the Acadian Highlands, the highest tides in the world, and more than 25 waterfalls. Fundy National Park covers about 207 km2. Many people visit Fundy Park every year from all over the world and it isn’t surprising.There was little evidence that people lived on the territory of the Park until European settlement began in this area around 1825. Rocky, acidic soils, cool summersand cold winters were not conducive to prosperous homesteading. However, it was a good place for trees. Soon this place became very attractive as a source of lumber for the city of Saint John. Point Wolfe village and its sawmill became the main settlement in the area. Today you can still find pieces of brick on Point Wolfe beach and other evidence remains of the settlers who lived here before the park.Flora. In the Park, you can find a lot of different species of vascular plants bryophytes, and lichens. The park’s forest contains from balsam fir, yellow birch, white birch, and maples. From September to October, you can see beautiful autumn colors because of maples and charming fragrance to the forests of Fundy because of balsam fir. Fauna. You can find 38 species of mammal in Fundy National Park. You might see such animals like a bobcat, squirrel, hare, porcupine, beaver, deer, moose and eastern coyote. The population of moose is the biggest in the Park. Fundy is located on the Atlantic migration route and because of this there are also about 260 species of different birds. You could be lucky to see eagles or peregrine falcons on the hunt.Fundy National Park has over 100 kilometers of hiking trails. Some of them lead to waterfalls, rivers, and secluded lakes, which perfectly suit for swimming. Fundy Park also has sixtrails for mountain biking. The Bay of Fundy is quite cold for swimming, but Fundy National Park has a few beautiful coastal beach areas to explore at low tide. Visitors could see a variety of seacreatures like a dog whelk or periwinkles. You can also go kayaking because it is the best way to appreciate the beauty of the Bay of Fundy. In winter, visitors could go skiing, snowshoeing, and winter walking.So Fundy National Park is a worldwide heritage which is really beautiful and is worth visiting.
