Ethics of Human Cloning

Nowadays, human cloning divides on therapeutic and reproductive cloning. Definition of human cloning is a genetically identical copy, that is produced by asexual reproduction. Human cloning is morally problematic, especially reproductive cloning. Therapeutic cloning can allow cloning of some human organs for transplantation of organs. Ethics of human cloning must be taken into technical and economic system. Below will be considered some ethical arguments, why the human cloning is illegal.

Most of the ethical arguments are against human cloning. People afraid that clone will be the same as a primary person. It is not true because clone will be the same genes, not traits and personalities. Behavior forming in the living environment, only heredity will be the same. Ethical issues of human cloning include fear, that cloning will lead to the loss of individuality eventually. Scientists and researchers prove that clone will be used for investigations, cloning human organs that are safety. At this time hasn’t permission to implement human cloning, especially reproduction of living people without them knowing. Considering ethical arguments, in Spain, Italy, Philippines, USA, Costa Rica, Greece, Portugal – human cloning are illegal. In return, in some parts of Australia is legal therapeutic cloning. In Great Britain government introduced legislation therapeutic cloning in a debate in 2001.

Pope Benedict XVI has condemned the human cloning. According to his speech, human therapeutic and reproductive cloning is an offense against dignity and equality among the people. Saudi Arabia also condemned the human cloning. Ethical arguments opposed legalization through destruction embryos. In human cloning, embryos are used in the early stages, that don’t allow them to grow. Nowadays, government organizations control all research programs with the fertilization and genetic techniques.

There is a lot of distinction between morality and the law, not everything that is immoral ought to be prohibited by the law. Considering a large part of arguments against the human cloning, the most demonstrated are: the human cloning is unsafe, not medically necessary, except transplantation, and the human cloning couldn’t be an equitable manner. The human cloning is an illegal procedure; religion and law deny the need of the therapeutic and reproductive creation.
