Ode on a Grecian Urn by John Keats

The writing works of John Keats deserve to be studied and read by people, especially his Ode on a Grecian Urn, which consists of a few stanzas with different meanings and effects on readers. The first one is focused on the speaker standing right before some ancient Grecian urn and who seems to be quite preoccupied with depicting it in a frozen form. This man called a Grecian urn as a talented historian because of its possible ability to tell a story to others.

Besides, he thinks about the figures depicted on its side and he keeps wondering about their origins and associated legends. The speaker also examines the picture that depicts a group of men who seek out a group of women and he wants to know more about their story. The next stanza written by John Keats is focused on the same speaker who looks at another depiction on the same Grecian urn. It’s a depiction of one young lad who plays a pipe while lying in a complete harmony with his lover. The speaker pays attention to the silent melodies and their sweetness because they aren’t affected by time. However, a young lad can’t kiss a lover because they are stuck in time.

Another stanza included in this interesting literary piece is focused on the speaker who views trees that engulf lovers. This man communicates his feeling of ecstasy and happiness because it seems like lovers don’t want to shed their leaves.
