There are so small words as love and hate, but they still have the great amount of power. Both these feelings have enough capacity to change the personalities in the positive side as well as capability to break the lives. In the play “Romeo and Juliet” William Shakespeare tried to point out the intensity of the both feelings. It doesn’t really matter whether it is the enough strong feeling of hate or love between individuals, other people can become impassioned by the sharing beauty of such feeling as love.
This story has no happy end, but it still is one of the famous examples of the eternal love between man and woman. Of course, everyone who has ever heard or read this play remembers the conflict between two families. It is said about Montagues and Capulets, whose children felt in love with each other. This conflict not only affects all members from these two families, but it also affects the servants as well. The play begins and there is a quarrel just in the street between the servingmen of the Montagues and Capulets. The members of the second family began to provoke other without any instigation.
There are lots of specific quotes which point on the unpleasant relationships between these two families. Due to some of the quotes in the play we may notice how ingrained the hostilities are, when their servants became the part of them. That’s why people were involved in the family events when they don’t need to be. Unfortunately, as result, these innocent and worthy people die for their hostilities.
Let’s remember the scene 1 in Act 3, when Mercutio is killed. This character is killed not because he is the member of any of these two families, but because he is the best friend of Romeo. Of course, Mercutio was going to defend the Romeo’s name in spite of the fact, that his kinsman the Prince told him to do something else. Being the most fun-loving and easy-going character in the play, Mercutio dies because families of Montague and Capulets can’t seem to get along. The ridiculousness of this strange situation is at least nauseating.
The plot of the whole play is based on the difference between two feelings love and hate. And William Shakespeare demonstrates many characters who suffer from this situation, occurred between Capulets and Montague. Lots of characters died because of this conflict, and in the end of the play the young couple also died for their eternal love to each other. These features make the play Romeo and Juliet to be the brightest example of love stories.
