An Absurdist View Essay

Absurdism is all about a philosophical perspective claiming that the efforts of people to find the rational explaining or meaning of the universe will ultimately fail as there is no such a meaning for people. Besides, an absurdist view usually contains a feeling of frustration or a tragic tone that comes from different contradictions between a quest for a life meaning and its impossibility. This concept is closely related to nihilism and existentialism, and this term has its origins dated back to the 19th century and Kierkegaard.

Basically, it’s all about some philosophical position that comes from the existentialism concept when Camus, a famous French writer and philosopher, divided this philosophical line and published his Myth of Sisyphus. After WWII, the world got the social environment and settings that stimulated an absurdist view and allow its development, especially in France. Kierkegaard was the one who created a special relationship framework based on idea of how people react to feeling desperate.

Another famous literary work of Camus titled The Stranger is widely recognized as one of the main building stones of the transformation from existentialism to absurdism. It’s undeniable that this famous man has his own absurd view of life in general, and he also worked hard to find the meaning in people’s existence. Camus believed that a death was the only existing end and that all the events experienced by people were the only purpose of their living, and this ideology was depicted in The Stranger.

Camus also reflected his absurdist philosophy of people’s existence via his characteristics of the main characters. Some people believe that an absurdism is the main form of atheism, and many of his works prove that. According to this philosophy, the mankind won’t be able to comprehend a bigger picture.

In addition, there was another outstanding man who played a huge role in the development of absurdist views, and his name was Kierkegaard, and he mainly wrote about the absurdity of this world. There are many famous works of this talented author, including Fear and Trembling, where he reflects his ideas and arguments. According to his autobiography, most of his writings do not necessarily reflect his personal views, but they anticipated a number of basic absurdist views and themes, thus providing this philosophy with its theoretical background.

Absurdism is all about a philosophical perspective claiming that the efforts of people to find the rational explaining or meaning of the universe will ultimately fail as there is no such a meaning for people.
