The Aviation History Study

Interested in the history of aviation? Then you should know that the 1stform of a modern aircraft was a kite, and it was designed in the fifth century. This development was continued by Leonardo da Vinci who was fond of studying the flight of birds, and this interest helped him create a parachute and an airscrew in the 16th century. His project of an airscrew resulted in the evolvement of a propeller in the future, while his parachute played a huge role in the entire aviation history.

In 1903, the 1st heavier than air machine was created by Wright brothers and it powered the flight that lasted for a few seconds and spanned 120 feet. The main detail that separates this aviation model from the modern ones is that it was catapulted at once to provide enough speed. Over time, the mechanics and designs of planes advanced considerably, and cockpits were designed for pilots. Besides, there were certain suggestions made about the effectiveness and reasoning of turning planes into weapons.

In 1912, the 1st dogfight between German and British planes took place. During WWI, aviation was a booming industry, and this is when some of the most famous types of places were constructed, and they were tri and bi planes. Their pilots carried grenades and bombs to throw them out of their planes while flying above enemy lines. Later, these places were equipped with special cameras to aloe pilots to take pictures of important enemy positions, and the first reconnaissance plane was designed at that time too.

When WWI ended, people started to use planes for commercial traveling, and this decision was made as they were more convenient and quieter. Over time, this industry was keeping developing, and this is how large and reliable operators of international airlines evolved. Besides, the small aircraft production also increased considerably.

When WWII started, fighter planes had added 2 wings, and heavy bombers were manufactured to become the biggest models with 4 engines and large wing spans. This is when Germans developed the first aircraft with a jet engine, and this war definitely changed the entire aviation history. The key difference is that there were more people involved in this industry after its ending. One of the greatest achievements is that new rocket and jet airplanes replaced older models, and their development still continues these days.
