Diplomatic law in literature is defined as the oldest branch of international law regulating the official communication and relations between subjects of international law, which are carried out by special bodies of external relations. Diplomatic law is a system of international law relating to the status and functions of the state bodies of external relations.

The form of diplomacy, as "the method of the external functions of the state, may make direct negotiations, preparation and support of international treaties and agreements, the daily office, participation in international organizations and at international conferences, diplomatic correspondence, publication of the official information, official publication of the international acts and documents.

Diplomatic representation is the organ of one state in the territory of another state for the implementation of official relations between them. There are two types of missions. Embassy is a representative of the first class. Mission - the second class representation.

The main duties of the Ambassador are:

  • responding to requests of public authorities;
  • informing of executive power on issues of foreign and domestic policy of the state;
  • ensuring the development of cooperation between the two countries;
  • participation in the preparation of international treaties;
  • maintenance work on the protection of the rights and interests of citizens of the state in the receiving state;
  • participation in the preparation and implementation of interstate exchanges at the highest level;
  • maintaining contacts with the heads of state;
  • implementation of a general management activity of consular offices;
  • ensuring the spread information in the host country official on issues related to the foreign policy of the country;
  • protection of property rights.

Ambassador performs other functions in accordance with the law of the state, international law, the laws of the receiving state:

  • negotiation;
  • contribution to the established procedure for consideration of proposals on bilateral relations with the host State.
  • leaving in the event of the need for short-term business trips outside the State;

Through multilateral diplomacy, states maintain official relations not only between their countries but also with international organizations. Member States claim permanent missions to international organizations, as well as to send a delegation to attend the sessions of these organizations or bodies.
