The Criminal Justice of Violent Crimes among Children

These days, there is an increased awareness and knowledge of violent crimes committed by children, criminals who are less than 18 years old. Despite their young age, they tend to commit certain crimes under different life circumstances and incidents. It’s necessary to define and describe these violent crimes in addition to discussing their main reasons and causes. The criminal justice tends to deal with charging minors for committing these crimes, and it’s also involved in this controversial and important subject.

Basically, there are certain violent crimes that children commit nowadays, and readers will get their clear definitions below. Murders are the willful killing of one person by the other, and these crimes don’t include the deaths resulted by their negligence, suicide attempts, unfortunate accident, and other similar circumstances. This means that different traffic fatalities are also excluded.

Minors also tend to commit forcible rapes, and this category of violent crimes includes the rapes by force, their attempts, and assaults to rape anyone. People should know that different statutory offenses are excluded from this category. Any robbery is all about taking or trying to take something valuable from the control, custody, or care of other people forcefully or by threating to use violence or force and putting victims in fearful situations.

Burglaries are about breaking and entering the property that belongs to other people, so it’s all about the illegal entry of buildings to commit a theft or felony. Besides, children may commit aggravated assaults, which are illegal attacks of other people with the main purpose of causing aggravated and severe bodily injuries. This type of violent crimes is often accompanied by using different weapons or other items that are likely to cause people’s death or their severe harm.

Unfortunately, the violent crimes committed by children and teenagers are a major problem of the modern society, including the US. According to the latest statistics, almost 20% of all violent crimes committed these days are done by kids who are less than 18 years old, and this fact is quite frightening. This is what results in changes in juvenile justice laws because their basic purpose is to place juvenile offenders on trials, just like adult criminals.
