Comparing Cloning to Evolution

In one of his books a Polish writer of philosophical science fiction, Stanislaw Lem tells about a horrible experience of his hero who had cloned himself many times. However, the problem of that man is nothing compared to the terrible implications that cloning can bring to humanity.

Can the cloning be compared with the evolution? After all, evolution is a long process of gradual, slow changes that ultimately lead to the fundamental, high-quality changes culminating in the emergence of new material systems, structures, forms and types. What is cloning? Cloning is the formation of identical offspring (clones) by asexual reproduction. The result of cloning is a population of cells or organisms with the same set of genes.

It turns out that evolution is the creation of new and qualitative, while cloning – stamping the same type of bodies. Sure thing, it is still too early to speak of human cloning as this problem is so complex in a physical and ethical sense that we do not know whether somehow this process will be given the green light. The idea of human cloning brings forth such a challenge for the human society which has never been encountered before. Cloning is a possible risk to lose the individual’s uniqueness.

With the development of science, we obtain new knowledge and each step brings us previously unknown opportunities, but also the severe danger. The power of the atom has brought us cheap electricity – but also a weapon that can destroy humanity. The same is with the cloning. For infertile families and seriously ill people it is the salvation. However, what may happen with the emergence of many biological "copies" of living people?

It has taken millions of years for the nature to create a complex mechanism of the preparation of germ cells to start a new life. According to many experts, cloning, i.e. the reproduction of a copy of the full-grown creature and not his germ cells is violating the prohibitions of nature.

In conclusion, it should be mentioned that human development is a complex multi-level process that creates a unique personality. Evolution is the improvement and perfection of a man. Each of us is a unique part of life on the Earth which in turn proceeds according to certain laws of nature. Do we want to break the law? I think not, because any crime is punished. No one knows how severe the punishment will be if we start to stamp people, as for me it will be drastic.
