The Chinese Cultural Revolution Essay

The Chinese Cultural Revolution happens around 50 years ago, and many people died as its result. What was it for? Who started it? Basically, it was a period of both social and political changes launched by Mao Zedong who wanted to use people to enhance his control over the country and party. This era is also characterized by unfathomable brutality and complexity, so many historians still struggle to understand the events involved in it.

The decision of Mao to start this revolution in 1966 is interpreted as his attempt to kill all of his enemies. The mass mobilization was started in the country and it was depicted by the media as a huge struggle to inject a new life into the socialist society. Unfortunately, the Chinese Cultural Revolution ruined many lives, worsened economy, and led to other negative consequences, including stagnation, hunger, turmoil, and so on. Groups of students attacked those people who wore expensive clothes right on the streets, and they ruined all imperialist signs. Many party officials and intellectuals were killed and forced to commit a suicide. Later, this period was described as a huge catastrophe that led to many devastating losses.

What was its basic goal? Whose idea was it? This revolution was the idea of Mao Zedong, and when his troops seized their power, he described this political campaign as an effective method to reinvigorate communist by enhancing ideology and eliminating all opponents. Besides, this period was an attempt of this dictator with a totalitarian authority to reassert his control by killing all enemies, both imagined and real.

How did it start? Many historians have an opinion that the Chinese Cultural Revolution started when party leaders issued their act that warned others that the communist party started to infiltrate all unwanted elements in the society. It involves many students and young people who wore red armbands and wanted to destroy old customs, ideas, culture, and habits.

Many teachers, party members, and intellectuals found themselves in a dangerous situation because they were often publicly humiliated and even murdered during the so-called struggle sessions. What was next? After the explosion of the red terror led by students, the entire chaos spread all over the country very fast, and this revolution resulted in many negative results in addition to lose lives.

The Chinese Cultural Revolution happens around 50 years ago, and many people died as its result. What was it for? Who started it? Basically, it was a period of both social and political changes launched by Mao Zedong who wanted to use people to enhance his control over the country and party.
