All of us know the famous myth about Prometheus, the mighty Titan of Greek mythology, who rebelled against the will of god, Zeus. He stole the sacred fire and gave it to the people, thus giving them life. Human civilization, received the fire, began to develop, explore the world and reach new heights. Many modern scientists are compared with Prometheus, which allowed people to take another look at the world. But now I would like to recall the personality, which, fortunately or unfortunately, is not real. It's about a character from the world-famous literary work, Victor Frankenstein.
Victor Frankenstein was mad, obsessed with the idea of the resurrection of man. Using his knowledge of medicine, this strange and eccentric scientist conducted endless and horrific experiments in his laboratory. He gathered a creature from various parts of the bodies, trying to give it life. Spending a lot of hours at work, he gathered his monster, in the hope that his experiment will bear fruit, and being created by him will give the key to immortality.
At first glance, the story of Dr. Frankenstein's simply appalling and defies understanding. Many people consider him abnormal, who imagines himself a God, but is it so?
It is necessary to consider the story of Frankenstein on the other side. First of all, it is worth noting that the doctor gad only good intentions, because he wanted to give humanity the miracle of eternal life. Of course, the methods by which he tried to achieve the goal, were terrifying, but in fact the very purpose was noble. In fact, Frankenstein could be described as a modern Prometheus, as outlined in the novel`s name. Like the ancient titan, Victor longed to give to mankind the light of knowledge that will allow it to make significant progress in its development. Like Prometheus, Frankenstein went against the will of God, wishing to recreate the life given by the Lord. The doctor was severely punish for his offense. Wanting to give people a great blessing, he was not understood by them and punished for those acts that did on the way to his goal.
If we consider the actions of the doctor from the moral and ethical side, he certainly can be called a madman. But what if you look at the doctor`s experiment from the point of view of science? Humanity suffers from many ills: disasters, diseases and burdens. The doctor was trying to find, as it seemed, the most effective solution to all these problems. He wanted to bring the light of science and knowledge to humanity by giving people an incredible opportunity.
