Analysis of the Scene of Romeo and Juliet: the equality of feelings

Shakespeare's tragedy “Romeo and Juliet” is filled with poetry. In order to convey the beauty of the young lovers’ feelings, Shakespeare uses a wealth of poetic means that existed in the lyrics of his time. All scenes of Romeo and Juliet are very poetic, but most importantly, each scene is characterised by complete disclosure of both characters.

In the scene in the night garden, Romeo tells about the flowering of his soul, meaning his inner world is blossoming like never before. The same is with Juliet. Her love is not the one that was at the beginning. Her love has also experienced fast and impassioned blossom. This reciprocity of feelings shows that there is no shadow of enslavement and slavery between them. On the contrary, their love is liberating, as both feel as if they have become newly born people able to learn the whole power of love. It is seen in their literary and lyrical speech. Even about their farewell they talk with the rise of thoughts and imagination. The metaphors they quote seem to come from all corners of the world and consciousness. Thus, Romeo recalled childhood and school, Juliet — the bird on the silk leash, which she is pulling back. Juliet decides to release the bird, but at the same time, she is jealous that the bird will become free. At this moment for both Romeo and Juliet, everything is illuminated and everything is available, whatever the period of human life, no matter what is now before their eyes, and what was in the past, no matter large or small, animate or inanimate — the difference between them disappears.

The talent of love speaks in them. In their speeches is the game of life, which is now quite different: they do not wander, do not worry about unknown things. They are just living and their goal is found. Scenes of the first and second date of Romeo and Juliet are under the influence of a night landscape. The night goes on, and they both hear and see how the night moves, how change the colours of the sky, how the moon silvers the tops of fruit trees in the garden, how the nightingale, a night bird, gives rein to the song of the lark, the bird of dawn.

Shakespeare’s nature is not the decoration but the basis for love. Its beauty with greater force is opened to the lovers. Having love, Romeo and Juliet are together with nature, and nature protects them, thus both of them live and act as they should. This explains the beauty and purity of their relationship.
