In fact, it is considered to be a symptom of complex problems like illiteracy, emotional instability, mental illness, chronic substance abuse, breakdown of the family, death of close relatives, unemployment and other reasons.
Any of us can leave the home and become homeless. There are lots of reasons which force the humans to be homeless, and these reasons can be varied. That is why the thousands of residents of America who have no work or have low-paying job are I the risk of becoming homeless. It demonstrates that housing, income and homelessness are tingly linked with each other. People with low incomes can’t pay in a full measure for housing, health care, education, food and children needs. It is really difficult to make choices and pay only for some of these necessities when the people have limited finance. Of course, most of them choose the housing, which takes the biggest proportion of the average income.
Public assistance and employment are the two major sources of proper income. And the decrease of any of these sources would put the people from poor and middle classes at the risk of becoming homeless. In addition, minimal wage earnings will soon lift the families above the poverty line. It is said that approximately 3 million of poor Americans spend the half of their income on housing. But according to estimations of the Department of Housing and Urban Development, families shouldn’t spend more than 30% of common income. Even though lots of homeless adults are employed, they earn minimal wages, which are not enough for the normal conditions for living. It even doesn’t meet the basic needs. And it is in a time when technological acceleration may accept the others from the competitive job market which is full of offers from the educated, but homeless people who live in United States.
