Ho Chi Minh is an outstanding figure in the history because he was a communist leader, Vietnamese statesman, and Confucian humanist who did his best to lead the struggle of his country for independence in the 40s. Besides, this man was an importance person in the wat between South and North Vietnam in the 60s. He decides to devote his entire life to the ideas of nationalism and promoting the Vietnamese independence.
Basically, Ho Chi Minh emphasized the main revolutionary potential of the peasantry and also used communist ideas as his effective tool to earn the independence of his country. He was a famous leader of North Vietnam in the war with the US and he shared similar political beliefs as his father. His name was Nguyen and he refused to learn a foreign language in addition to losing endless job opportunities in his native country for this reason.
As his son, Ho Chi Minh really believed that his country deserved to become free of colonial ruling, but he attended any French school as the knowledge of a foreign language would help him fulfill his dreams for Vietnam. He was a sailor for some years and saw other French colonies while categorizing them with poverty throughout the whole population. While living in France, Ho Chi Minh adopted communism ideas and became one of the most important founders of this party, but he was still a nationalist in his heart as he decided to come back to his country and help it gain its independence.
Some people may claim that this man can’t be a true nationalist as he started his communist party in France, but this statement is false. That’s because even after its creation, Ho Chi Minh returned and joined a Vietnamese nationalist group. He was looking for any available opportunity to bring freedom and independence to his home country. In addition, his personal nationalistic ideas and perceptions for Vietnam and the Viet Minh weren’t ready for action.
His nationalism came in its effect when Ho started and announced the democratic republic, which resulted in the war with France as this country didn’t want Vietnam to be free and independent. His nationalism was also present after France stopped fighting with his country that gained its independence, but Ho Chi Minh didn’t finish fulfilling his dreams because Vietnam was divided into two parts, and he rules the northern one. He wanted to unite this country and did his best to achieve this important goal.
