The Evolution of Macbeth Essay

When evaluating the evolution of Macbeth, the first thing that readers should know is that it’s one of the greatest plays written by William Shakespeare. Besides, Macbeth is one of the most genuine characters created by this famous author because he displays a number of widespread human weaknesses, including falling into temptation. They are also responsible for causing significant changes in this important character, thus enhancing the plot of this well-known tragedy.

Such basic events as elevating the prophesies of witches, murdering the king and Banquo, degrading the taunting sessions of his wife, and his last visit to witches help readers paint a clearer picture of the evolution of Macbeth as the central character of this play. At its very beginning, he is an honest and respectful man, but he has a desire to get more fueled by the prophecies of three witches who temp him with hopes for the future.

Macbeth is a courageous Scottish general who isn’t inclined to commit bad deeds, but his deep desire for power and advancements push him on this path. After hearing about the things he can have in the future, Macbeth can’t stop thinking about these possibilities. His ultimate goal is to become the king, but it’s also responsible for different changes in his character. Shakespeare also presents him as being a disloyal man by suggesting that he does his best to hide evil intentions from himself and other people.

Of course, Macbeth realizes that killing the king is a very bad action, but he tries to stop telling that himself, and this is when his loyalty starts wavering. The author also presents Macbeth as a true war hero because of his bravery and other accomplishments, but he starts thinking about murdering the king while analyzing all the pros and cons of this step. He definitely contemplates this action, but he still has certain fears and doubts about it, which is natural.

In conclusion, Macbeth hasn’t any justification for committing this crime because Duncan is a great king while being his relative so that he only uses his vaulting ambitions as the main reason to murder him. He turns from a loyal, brave, and honest man into someone who keeps suffering from hallucinations because of his wrongdoings. The worse this character becomes, the more hallucinations he sees because of his traitor heart. This play describes how life decisions can change people and their personalities.

When evaluating the evolution of Macbeth, the first thing that readers should know is that it’s one of the greatest plays written by William Shakespeare. Besides, Macbeth is one of the most genuine characters created by this famous author because he displays a number of widespread human weaknesses, including falling into temptation.
