Smoke Is Dangerous to Health

People should understand that smoking is very harmful to their health, and there is no safe and healthy way to smoke. For example, some of them decide to replace standard cigarettes with pipes, cigars, and others, but this step won’t help them avoid the health dangers associated with this habit.

Basically, all cigarettes contain a number of ingredients, and when they burn, they generate a range of chemicals. The worst part is that most of them are hazardous and poisonous, including different cancer risks. Most of these components are also found in pipes and other similar items. When it comes to the dangers of smoking to people’s health, there are certain things that are important to learn.

Nicotine is one of the main ingredients of cigarettes, and it’s all about a mood-altering substance which has the potential to reach the brain within a few seconds. As its effect reduces, smokers start feeling tired instead of being energized, and the main drawback is that nicotine is a habit-forming substance. Smoking increases the risk of such health problems as cataracts, macular degeneration, and it can lead to certain taste changes. Besides, there are withdrawal symptoms associated with smoking, including feeling irritated and depressed.

In terms of the respiratory system, when smoking, people are taking in the substances that damage their lungs so that their ability to filter harmful things becomes impaired. Different toxins get trapped in lungs, and this means that smokers are exposed to a higher risk of having colds and other respiratory infections. Kids whose parents are smokers are more prone to wheezing, coughing, and asthma.

Smoking also causes a lot of harm to the cardiovascular system. When nicotine reaches the body, it provides a sugar blood boost, thus making smokers crave more and feel tired. Moreover, smoking tightens blood vessels and reduced the blood flow while decreasing good cholesterol levels and raising blood pressure. This is what results in boosting bad cholesterol levels and stretching arteries in addition to increasing the risk of forming blood clots. Finally, smokers are exposed to the increased risk of having different oral issues because tobacco causes such health conditions as periodontitis and gingivitis, tooth decay and bad breath. That’s why it’s advisable to get rid of this harmful habit and avoid the above-mentioned health risks.
