“Wall Street” is an American film directed by Oliver Stone. This brilliant film tells us a story of Bud Fox. Bud is a young stockbroker who is engaged in small stock transactions. He belongs to a generation of "yuppies” - young people with diplomas of prestigious universities. They dream of easy money and quick career in the world of business. Bud is a man with big ambitions. His idol is Gordon Gekko. Gekko is a big bank businessman who made a lot of money cheating people and using dirty tricks like lowering or raising the rates on the market. This man is a shark in the world of business. He is ready to treat everyone to get a profit. Young Bud who earns about 50 000$ a year dreams of big trades and big money. Gekko isn’t just a greedy man who wants more money and power. Gecko is an arbitrager in the business world. An arbitrager is one who searches for information about firms that are wreck able. Gekko is a greed philosopher. Something like a preacher of almost legalized robbery. “Greed is good” – this is his main credo. His focus on the success and extreme prudence delight onlookers. Gordon Gekko is considered to be one of the most genius antagonist ever.

Bud is a very smart student. He earns a lot of money doing things that Gordon says him to do. He moves to a new apartment and finds a beautiful girlfriend. At that moment, Gekko convinced Fox that “Greed is good”. Bud sees the sense of life in getting more money, better life and status.
At last, Bud Fox does the right choice, which helps many people to save their jobs. Bud’s father is the person who changes Bud at the right moment. He makes him realize that the best thing in the world is to create value, not to buy and sell dreams for others. As a redemption, Bud goes to jail but he doesn’t go there alone. He takes Gordon with him and shows that the justice do exist.
Oliver Stone brilliantly shows all metamorphoses that take place with the main character. Michael Douglas, who played Gordon Gekko, earned many awards, including the "Oscar". Charlie Sheen was also wonderful.
