MLK and His Quest for Peaceful Protest

For all people, it’s important to learn the history behind the quest of African Americans for their social equality. The US history includes many supporters of peaceful protests, but the most prominent ones is Martin Luther King Junior because his movement of non-violent civil actions had a great impact. This man was inspired by the beliefs that peaceful protests and love could eliminate and stop social injustice, and he became one of the most powerful black leaders at the time of the Civil Rights movement.

MLK managed to inspire many black and white people alike to protest such negative trends in the society as poverty, racial discrimination, and war. His personal vision transcended only racial matters and he even succeed to win his Nobel Prize in 1964. King often stated that one of the most important moral and politic questions of his time was the necessity to overcome violence and oppression without restoring to them.

Martin was impressed and influenced by the teachings of Gandhi and Thoreau about people’s non-violent resistance. That’s why he strongly believed that it was the only practically sound and moral method to right for freedom and equality. His house was bombed and vandalized in 1955, but King remained healthy and he did his best to persuade his endless followers to remain non-violent, regardless of many threats to their property and lives.

This brilliant man was known and known as one of the most famous and effective advocates of direct and non-violent actions as the method of social reforms. He was born in 1929, and his roots are in African-American Baptist church beliefs because his father was a pastor. Martin studied at Boston University, and this is where he became interested in non-violent protests and trademark actions as an effective form of social reforms.

In conclusion, King was an expert on the work and life of Gandhi and used his life as an example. He became a pastor and got a degree in systematic theology, but his role in the society and the world was vaster. Everything started when one African-American woman refused to give up a seat to a white man because she was tired. It started the bus boycott of a local company that punished this woman, and Martin King was fast elected as the president of a newly-formed association. He gained his national fame and recognition for the role he played in this bus boycott, and his success was continued by other peaceful actions.
