Alcohol and Effects on Crime

People, who like to drink alcohol, violate the law more often than others. Drunken people behave inappropriately. The weakening of self-control may cause harm to a person’s own health as well as to people around.

Next day, a sober person cannot explain yesterday’s aggressive behavior. Crimes committed due to alcoholism are not a mitigating circumstance. A person will incur criminal and administrative responsibility for their actions to the fullest.

According to statistics, a third of all offenses are committed after drinking alcohol. The reasons for this lie in the influence of ethanol on the human body. Ethyl alcohol disrupts all organs and systems without exception. The toxic substance is harmful to the brain and interferes with the normal performance of its functions. The psychological state of a person changes beyond recognition.

A man, who has exceeded the norm of alcohol, feels euphoria and a burst of energy, which gradually gives way to irritability and aggression. It impairs the ability to think properly. A person creates conflicts from nothing. Aggressiveness pushes to resolve them by force. A drunken person doesn’t have self-control that’s why there is high crime among drinkers.

Sexual desire increases after drinking alcohol. In case of refusal or resistance, a person suffering from alcoholism may resort to violence and commit a crime of a sexual nature.

When a person is drunk, fatigue and weakness come, leading to disturbed coordination of movements. In this condition a person may cause a car accident or be its victim, or start a fire in the apartment. Crime as a result of negligence is a frequent phenomenon among fans of alcohol.

Morality of people consuming alcohol for a long time is changing beyond recognition. They lose their family and work and gradually sink to the bottom of society. Crime is common among people, who suffer from chronic alcoholism. To find money they steal, distribute drugs, and do prostitution.

More than 80% of domestic crimes are committed on the background of drinking alcohol. Cause of crime on the basis of alcoholism is the weakening of self-control, aggression, and irritability. A drunken person can’t think straight. Verbal altercation between relatives and friends can result in physical harm, when people may use sharps and other objects at hand.

The problem of violation of the law by drunken people has a nationwide character.

Alcoholism violates the right of other citizens to life and security. They can become the victim of the crimes of different nature. Alcoholism is a social disease that requires treatment.

Reduction of crime on the basis of alcohol abuse can be contributed by the awareness of citizens.
