Other countries of Oceania are developing countries, the main asset of which are the natural environment and strategic location. The main areas of the economy are agriculture, fishing and tourism. The main crops are coconut crop, sugar cane, bananas, fruits and vegetables.
Australia takes on the entire continent, Tasmania and several smaller islands in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Modern Australia is an economically developed industrial-agrarian country. The global economy appears as a supplier of raw materials and foodstuffs. It plays a significant role in world output, production and trade of different raw materials and industrial products. The leading place in the sectoral structure of the economy belongs to the processing industry (ferrous metallurgy, mechanical engineering, chemical, food, textile, printing, etc.)
South-east of the country is the most developed. Here are concentrated the major cities, industrial centers and, accordingly, there is the highest population density. There is Sydney, the largest and oldest city, which is one of the most important industrial and cultural centers of the country, the modern capital of the State of New South Wales. In a relatively short period Australia has passed a difficult path of economic development. On agrarian and the raw material appendage of the mother country, which was the country in the early twentieth century, it became an economically highly developed state.
Close relations with the metropolis played a major role. Immigrants from Europe formed the basis of qualified labor. The migration policy of the country contributes to the increase in the number of emigrants. Therefore, Australia is a highly developed country, which dominates in its economic area. Moreover, this is country significant enough that “Western world” just cannot ignore it and that is why always tried to collaborate with Australia.
