A Brief History, Thales of Miletus

First of all, before going deeper into facts, the main thing that should be mentioned about Thales of Miletus is that he belongs to ancient Greek mathematicians. There are many details that you can find about him, but some of them are only educated guesses. The main reason is that all records were kept on special tablets that were destroyed partially or as a whole.

The dates of his life revolve around 540-620 BC and he had Greek origins so that it’s no wonder Thales are called the father of Greek math. Besides, he was famous not only for his outstanding discoveries in this field, but he also belonged to the wisest men of that time. They formed a group of mathematicians and philosophers who were the best in their given fields.

Basically, there are different false beliefs that surround Thales of Miletus, and the main one is that Pythegoras was taught by him, but it’s not true because he was born afterwards. Another interesting fact that you should learn is that he was the major representative of the school of math called Ionian. When it comes to his spare time, there are rumors that he had many jobs, including olive presses, stargazing, selling salt, and so on.

Once you get a better idea of his personality, you should get a better idea of a brief history of his discoveries. Thales was the 1st man to consider mathematics as some perfect notions clarified by applying human reasons and isolated basic facts. Besides, this talented mathematician was credited for a logical geometry structure and its rational organization. Don’t forget that he was focused on different practical uses too. For instance, Thales wanted to measure Egyptian pyramids by considering the lengths of shadows to the one of a vertical stick.

Theorom of Thales is one his most prominent works in this field. In it, he tried to state that any angle inscribed into semicircles is right, but the only incorrect thing with this theorem was its name. It’s interesting that it was used by Babylonians in the past. However, this is what allows Thales made a well-known name through demonstrating it as they made him recognized and popular among other mathematicians. He developed other interesting theories that are also worth people’s attention. It’s obvious that he was quite a dedicated and educated person who had a great impact on mathematics, especially when it comes to geometry. Thales was versatile if to consider all of these things that he did to earn a living.

Good writer understood the assignment. The only issue was repetitive word choices and an occasional wonky sentence structure. But they were easy fixes.
