The tragedy of Macbeth is a story written by famous genius William Shakespeare. This book is about the relationships between the king and his servant; it shows how political ambitions and thirst for a wealth can destroy the soul. The author wrote this tragedy based on the history of Scotland. Shakespeare represents Macbeth as an angry and cold-blooded killer; however, the historical reality is totally different - he was a very clever and wise politic. So, it is not fair to present him just from Shakespeare`s views. However, this character is the main basis of the book.
Shakespeare implemented two sides in Macbeth: the good and evil. The noble person stays away from a righteous life and believes in the prophecy, which is said by witches. They told him three things; one of them says that he will be king. He believes in that prophecy and kills the king. By the way, his wife`s Lady Macbeth is more persistent than her husband, she even persuades and tempts him to kill the king. He does the order of the wife; the author shows him as a very weak person. The legitimate heirs run away from Scotland and start preparing for the war. During the book, Macbeth gains confidence that all his doing is right. Moreover, Macbeth wants to kill Banquo, because the prophecy says that he will be the ancestor of the royal dynasty. Macbeth hires the killers that must kill Banquo and his son Fleance. Unfortunately for Macbeth, Fleance runs away from the killers, only Banque was killed. After, during the banquet, Macbeth yells at the Tron, because he saw a ghost of Banque. Later, he keeps calm and asks guests to drink for Banque; it is very cynical because he killed his friend. He goes to witches and asks them what he should do and what a ghost means; they say him that the main enemy is Macduff. Without any doubt, Macbeth army destroys the Macduff’s castle, where a whole Macduff`s family live, and kill all residents including his wife and his sons. It is the demonstration of the unnecessary cruelty. From this event, the soul of Macbeth is constantly engulfed by the evil. Meanwhile, Malcolm and Macduff assembled an army and started the camping to Scotland. The soldiers cut down the forest to make the disguising; from the castle, it looks like the moving forest. The rebels occupy the castle and during the battle, Macbeth fights with Macduff. The fight finishes by the Macduff’s victory and the good wins the evil. The main idea of this tragedy is that the thief will be always punished.
