Death of John F. Kennedy

The murder of the 35th US President John F. Kennedy was committed on Friday November 22, 1963 in Dallas (Texas). Kennedy was fatally wounded by a shot from a rifle, when he and his wife Jacqueline were riding in a presidential motorcade on Elm Street.

For ten months, the murder was investigated by a specially convened commission, headed by the chairman of the United States Supreme Court, Earl Warren, which concluded that the murder was committed by a criminal-loner Lee Harvey Oswald. The subsequent official investigations confirmed that the killer was Oswald, but probably some conspirators were behind it. There are a number of conspiracy theories, questioning the findings of the Warren Commission and representing an alternative version of the murder, including the plot of American or Soviet special services, but none of them has been proved. Opinion polls show that the vast majority of Americans (over 70%) do not believe in the official version of the murder.

One witness, Howard Brennan, who was at the time of the shooting in front of stacks, said to the police that after the first shot he saw in the window of the sixth floor a gunman. The Book Depository employee confirmed that he had heard shots from inside. Another officer, Roy Truly, told police that his subordinate Lee Harvey Oswald left the building immediately after the shooting. He gave his name and home address.

As established by the Warren Commission, Oswald left the weapon behind the boxes and immediately left the building shortly before it was cordoned off by police. When Oswald was walking the same street, he was stopped by a patrol Tippit, whom he killed him with four shots from a revolver. Shortly thereafter, Oswald was arrested in a movie theater. Oswald tried to shoot at the police, but was neutralized. That night, he was charged with the murder of Kennedy and Tippit. He completely denied his guilt. Two days later, on November 24, 1963, Oswald exiting the police station, accompanied by the police, was shot by the nightclub owner Jack Ruby. Thus Oswald’s guilt has never been proved or disproved in court.

The report of the Warren Commission, which has named the Lee Harvey Oswald to be the only assassin, left a lot of questions. During the time elapsed since the murder, there was a large number of conspiracy theories, the authors offer a reconstruction of events that do not coincide with the results of the official investigation. Among the potential clients standing behind the murder were named the CIA, FBI, Soviet intelligence services (KGB), US Vice President Lyndon Johnson, Cuban government, formations of anti-Castro Cuban exiles funded by the US government and organized crime groups.
