Causes of the American Revolution

If you’re a newbie in such a field as the history of the United States, then can’t proceed unless all the If you’re particularly interested in the history of the United States, then you shouldn’t neglect the real Causes of the American Revolution are clear to you. Let’s have a closer look at them in this review.

From the very beginning, the colonies were actually proud to be British. In fact, there were several instances of Parliament's control that really bothered the colonists, such as the Currency Acts of 1751 as well as 1764. However, when the French and Indian War burst out (1754 – 1763), King George III lost lots of money simply because of buying expensive supplies for his army as well as the colonies. For the purpose of paying off his debt, he dared to impose taxes on the colonies without their direct consent. Undoubtedly, that move outraged the colonists.

Wise folks say that one needs to look for the money trail. Perhaps, you’re already aware of the fact that the Protestant Reformation had one. Respectively, money was certainly one of the most crucial causes of the American Revolution.

Needless to say, the colonists disliked the idea of being taxed for things, they had always had free. As a result, those guys immediately initiated a boycott of British goods. Well, it was the king’s turn to get angry. King George didn’t hesitate when it came to sending soldiers across the Atlantic to tame the riotous colonies.

After a while another crucial cause of the American Revolution kicked in. A young ship owner brought over a ship stuffed with taxed tea from the United Kingdom and told he would see it unloaded.

The colonists made up their mind they would see none of the tea leave that ship. Then, a flock of colonists dressed as American Indians managed to board the ship at night and threw the tea overboard right into the harbor, thus getting rid of it. When they came across one of their comrades trying to steal something, they simply stripped the tea from his grasp and then sent him home without his pants. Apart from that, those guys dared to strip the ship owner of his clothes, tarred and also feathered him.

By the way, the given event is known in the American history as the Boston tea party.

Of course, we should remind you of Mr. Banks' comment in the film Mary Poppins. So, when the tea was thrown into the harbor, it was simply supposed by the American colonists to be too weak for Americans to drink.
