Phenyltol and its derivatives are used in organic chemistry for various syntheses under mild conditions. Phenyltol’s derivatives are used for synthetic drugs, additives for fuels and oils, plant growth stimulants, and polymeric materials with improved dielectric properties and bleaches capable of fluorescence. Such materials are used as bleaching agents.

Phenyltol and its derivatives are neutral connections with five cyclic rings. These are liquids that don’t dissolve in water. By their chemical properties they resemble aromatic hydrocarbons. Thus, in effect with strong sulfuric acids, these compounds form sulfonic schemes.

Phenyltol is resistant to heat. By its many properties, it is very similar to benzene, but differs from the latter by a relatively easy oxidability by reaction with hypochlorous acid, nitric acid, and others. Acute poisoning is possible during the inhalation of Phenyltol. The inhalation poisoning is observed with the coughing, dizziness, headaches, pain in the throat.
