There Is No Safe Sex

All people should understand that safe sex doesn’t exist for different reasons. That’s why sexually-active people are always at risk of having sexually transmitted diseases or becoming pregnant, regardless of their imaginary safety.

There are false suggestions that it’s possible to practice safer sex with limited emotional and physical repercussions. However, there is no 100% safe sex so that people need to understand that they can always be infected after their intercourse. Modern contraception methods offer specific ways to create a safer environment for sex, but the level of security that they provide is often over-exaggerated.

Besides, you should know the main difference between sexually transmitted diseases and infections. Those people who are infected may not show any signs so that you may assume that you’re having sex with someone who is free from these infections, but you’re wrong. It’s true that not all sexually transmitted infections lead to diseases, but there is still some threat to your health.

There are certain myths that should be discussed to be equipped with the right knowledge. First, some people still believe that contraception can help them prevent the spread of these diseases, but they are wrong according to statistics. This means that all people who are sexually-active have a certain risk exposure to these unwanted infections even if they use condoms or hormonal birth control methods. The main reason is that they may spread through physical contacts, not only sexual intercourse.

When it comes to condoms, they act just like some barrier to prevent pregnancy so that they are not designed to protect from diseases, especially if their outbreaks happen outside covered areas. Keep in mind that many sexually transmitted infections, including genital herpes, are on the skin so that any contact puts you at a high risk.

Finally, the claims that existing hormonal birth controls can help people prevent such diseases from spreading are false because they are not created to serve this purpose. Their basic function is to prevent fertilization and they don’t prevent any unwanted diseases.

Another widespread myth is that contraception methods are 100% effective when it comes to preventing pregnancy. You should understand that there is no 100% accurate method to achieve this goal. Don’t forget that almost 50% of all unwanted pregnancies were conceived when using different contraception tools.
