An Essay of To Kill A Mockingbird

They say to kill a mockingbird is a great sin, as it is one of the most harmless birds. Unfairly sentenced to death, Tom Robinson and Boo Radley Arthur are two innocent mockingbirds, whose inner purity was seen by the main character Jean-Louise. Harper Lee succeeded to accurately portray the adult world through the eyes of a child in her famous novel.

The novel is written in the genre of educational novel. It was published in 1960. The novel allows adults to once again feel like a child and look at the world through open, honest, and naive eyes of a child with a nickname Scout.

Almost the entire first part of the book is the introduction to family life. And it is very true, because the whole of life in society depends on the personality of a particular person, from their heart and soul, morality and conscience, and the principles.

The novel to some extent is autobiographical. This is a fantastic book. The book carries far into childhood, where foundations for life are laid. After all, children look at the world of adults and draw conclusions; they see the slightest lie, feel the discrepancy between words and actions. And so it is very important to be yourself in public and at home. When reading a book, it is necessary to re-read it between the lines, where you can read a lot about education, learning, outlook on life, and a contradiction to these views. Also you can look at excellent relations within the family – lovely friendship between sister and brother, who are able to fend for themselves. They are as their father – at home and in public. And probably that is why mysterious inhabitant of the country house fell in love with them.

Tom Robinson and Boo Radley are amazing and tragic images. One is black, who has known hate in life, slander and injustice only because he was born with different skin color. He was wrongfully convicted and finally killed by human cruelty. Another one is a mystery, a mysterious neighbor, doomed to while away the life behind the walls of an old house, escaping from the fate of Tom and the darkness of the human heart. His only joy in life was attachment to the neighborhood children; he became a guardian angel for them. They are two unfortunate men, two mockingbirds, unprotected by their kindness and vulnerability.

In the novel, Harper Lee tells about one of them and shows in all glory the power of racial prejudice, inequality, intolerance and prosperity of duplicity and hypocrisy. And children see all the shortcomings, the injustice of what is happening around. Feeling sorry for protagonists because of their such difficult upbringing, you still know that in agony and pain you can become a man.
