The Fundamentals of Judaism

The religion of Jews is one of the oldest in the world and dates back to the forefathers of Israel, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Abraham was the first Jew, with whom the Creator made a covenant. Several centuries later, Moses lived – the greatest prophet through whom God gave the Jews the Law, the Torah.

Religion of Jews is the relationship of a man with the Creator, their relationships and relationships between people; this is a system of views on the nature of God and his relationship to the people.

Judaism is expressed in faith in the one living God, who gave the Torah to Moses at Sinai. This is the most important commandment – to believe in the omnipresent God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and not just in our world. Faith in the almighty God, Jehovah, is the foundation of Judaism as a religion. In Judaism, the first time in the history of religions, monotheism has been hailed as a consistent principle. God, according to the teachings of Judaism, existed before the creation of all that he created, and he will always exist.

Tenets of Judaism also include the doctrine of the inspiration of the Old Testament, the first five books of which make up the Torah. Torah is not only the law, it is a science. Thora is the supreme authority of Judaism, the highest authority of the Israelites. The law includes the Ten Commandments, expressing the essence of norms prescribed by God in the relations of people with each other and with God. The law also includes regulations relating to religious and social life even detailed information on hygiene and daily behavior.

An integral part of Judaism is the doctrine of the coming of the Messiah, the Savior. The Savior was to be of royal lineage, from the lineage of David. Messiah will come to accomplish the righteous judgment, to pay tribute to people according to their deeds, and renew the world.

The doctrine of redemption and salvation is central in Judaism, as well as the concept of sin. Sin is what turns away a person from God: disobedience, digression from his ways.

Departure from Biblical Judaism began long before the coming of Yeshua and was gradual, becoming a Talmudic Judaism that had little from the faith professed by Moses. The essence of the Torah is the Ten Commandments. They have preserved, but received a lot of additional explanations. The Pharisees assumed the role of guardians of the Torah, the role of spiritual leaders. They adapted the Torah to changing conditions, making it suitable for the implementation of the Law.
