Describing a Night on the Lake

Are you familiar with Greasy Lake? This story is written by T. Coraghessan Boyle, and it had a great impact on one of my good friends. It’s easy for many people to relate to the characters described in this book and rebels without any cause attitude. What about a night on the lake? My friend was young and bad so that there was nothing to stop him. However, he had one sobering accident at a lake, which was quite similar to the characters in Greasy Lake. Just like them, the settings of the lake where my friend got into big trouble had a sobering effect on him for the rest of his life.

Basically, my friend was going to a school and he was young, strong, and energetic. Similar to the characters described in this book, he liked to cruise a town during the night looking for something that could occupy his free time. He usually ended up near a local lake where he and his friends hang out a lot. This means that this lake was a place to relax, hide, and catch a high, but this is what took them out of reality for a while.

The main reason why he spent many nights on the lake was the same as the one of the characters in Greasy Lake. My friend went there because other people did the same and he just wanted to breathe the fresh air and do other things that all teenagers did. It’s true that a local lake always gave him a fun and entertaining social atmosphere until the day that changed everything.

A night on the lake started just like others because he was spending time with his friends with the same attitude to their lives. They were cruising and searching for problems even without thinking about possible consequences, and they also made a conclusion that going to this lake was the best thing that they could do. The main reason is that it was quite late and they hoped to find other people there. They smoke and drank, but it was a completely normal night for this company. My friend and they thought that a local lake would provide them with a sort of security blankets that night, but they didn’t know that it would influence them all considerably.

There was an old fisher at the lake so that the company of my friend started to relax and have fun. Then they noticed someone approaching with a shiny badge so that this person was a police officer patrolling the area. He arrested my friend and took him to the jail, and this is where he started to feel invincible. This incident on the lake had a great impact on the rest of his like because it changed his entire outlook. From that day, my friend stopped being bad and started a new life.
