High Blood Pressure: Treatment, Prevention, Control

Many people do not notice that they have high blood pressure. Preventive examinations play an invaluable role in its control. Symptoms of high blood pressure are headache, dizziness, nausea, anxiety, irregular heart pain, etc.

Despite the fact that there is a lot of information about high blood pressure as an important risk factor of heart and vascular diseases, there is a rather flippant attitude to this issue in a society.

The data show that every third citizen in the world (about 40%) has high blood pressure. Men more often suffer from high blood pressure than women. 13% of deaths are associated with high blood pressure.

High blood pressure is formed, if the arteries and their smaller branches are getting narrowed. Arteries are the most important ways, by which the blood flows into all tissues of the body, so if they are narrowed, blood must overcome them, because of this the heart has to work in a reinforced mode.

The most important causes of high blood pressure are the following:

  • Large amounts of saturated fatty acids in food.
  • Excessive use of salt in food.
Many foods contain not only fats, but also salt, thus it is recommended to consciously choose foods that you eat.
  • Excessive alcohol consumption.
In very small doses, alcohol does not influence the pressure, but using it in a greater amount, it accelerates the heartbeat and blood pressure is directly dependent on the volume of blood that the heart pumps.
  • The insufficient use of fruit and vegetables (including potassium).
Potassium in the body acts as a neutralizer of sodium, lowering high blood pressure, so potassium is essential for maintenance of normal heart activity. Most of potassium is contained in fruits and vegetables, nuts, dried apricots, potatoes, and bananas.
  • Stress and tension associated with sedentary.
Many people are engaged in intellectual work, so there is emotional tension that people do not compensate with physical activity.
  • Obesity.
There is evidence that 68% of those suffering from high blood pressure are people with excess weight. Excess body weight causes the heart to work harder, because it is necessary to provide blood and oxygen of a greater volume, and thereby blood pressure increases.
  • Smoking.
If a person smokes regularly, the blood vessels are always in good shape, and over time they lose their elasticity and get narrow, causing high blood pressure.
  • Aging.
With age, physiological processes reduce the elasticity of blood vessels. This may contribute to the appearance of high blood pressure.

Many people do not notice that they have high blood pressure. Preventive examinations play an invaluable role in its control. Symptoms of high blood pressure are headache, dizziness, nausea, anxiety, irregular heart pain, etc.
