Money is dirty. Everyone knows this popular statement. However, have you ever thought about how dirty it is literally? Billions of billions of dollars circulate every hour, every minute and every second. They are being given and they are being received. Everybody needs it and everybody touches it. So, can you imagine how dirty every bank note is?
From the time of invention of paper money till now it is needed everywhere all over the world. But there’s no doubt that people are different. This means they have different commons, different habits etc. So, what is ok for one man may seem filthy for another. Example given, the same bank note could be used in US, then in Taiwan, then in Africa. Needless to say, people from United States have a completely different lifestyle than Africans. Moreover, both of them may not have immunity from some disease the others have. This way, money can be even dangerous.
The other problem with money is that it’s used by drug dealers and addicts. You may not believe, but there’s a fact that seventy percent of bank notes all over the world have some drugs on it. Of course, we aren’t talking about some large amounts of chemicals, but the fact remains.
So, what can be done to solve these money problems? The first thing every government should try is to produce bank notes with some sort of protection on it. There are various ways how to do it with different technologies. But this process would be really long and expensive.
The other way that’s actually easier to perform is to refuse bank notes at all. Seriously, why do we need these papers when we have credit cards? All over the world people use these credit cards. It’s really easy; you don’t need to carry a lot of papers in your wallet; even if you lose it or someone steals it, you won’t lose money. These are not the only reasons – there are plenty of them. However, that’s not so easy to perform such change in every country. The poor ones still don’t have a proper bank system to start the process.
Money is everything and everything is money. Modern society is built on the need to have it. So, we really should find a better way to exchange it. In my opinion, every country, whose government does care about citizens, should invest in converting paper money to credit cards. If people all over the world refuse bank notes, the amount of crimes will also decrease (as I believe). So, we really need to start thinking about the dirtiness of every coin we have and to do something with it.
