All of us had heard a large number of sayings and statements about dreams from childhood. Someone tells us that dreams are beautiful and needed, someone advises to relate dreams with the real state of things, and someone says that dreams are nonsense, and it is better not to waste time on false hopes. However, any successful person that has achieved everything in life started his career with a dream. This dream may have been audacious, funny, unthinkable and unrealizable. But person believed in it and did not give up, and it was a dream the reason that gave him the strength to continue the struggle. Therefore, dreams, despite the assurances of the skeptics, are necessary for self-motivated people who are able to achieve more than what they have now.
Another question is how a person relates to his dream. Whether he dreamed about something that is theoretically feasible, and whether he is willing to make an effort to translate his dreams into reality? After all, as we know, it is not enough to just want something. In order to achieve the desired, you need to make a plan, make an effort, and every day achieve small victories that will arise as a result of one big win. Thoughts are not able to materialize on their own, so we have a responsibility for if our dream has come true. And if that did not happen - it does not mean that the dream was unrealizable. Maybe we just didn’t put enough efforts to realize it.
In general, the dreams that come to mind can be divided into three categories:
1) The most productive dreams - those that can be performed, albeit a difficult way. These are the dreams that help us to set goals and achieve them, improve quality of our life, move up the career ladder, build relationships with people, develop our talents, and so on. Without such dreams we would be nothing, because in many ways it shapes our identity.
2) Pipe dreams. It's something in the spirit of: "Oh, if only one million US dollars fell on my head" or "If only I could fly to Mars and live there, like Matt Damon." Such dreams also bring some benefits, because they help us to briefly escape from the cruel reality and enjoy the imaginary successes. But do not get carried away by them, because the dreams from the first category, that we can really implement, are waiting for us. And the reality is not so bad to constantly run away from it.
3) Dreams that can be realized in virtual reality. Computer games, 3D movies and virtual simulators give us the opportunity, which we cannot get in real life. Fight with an army of orcs, build your castle or become the king of the elves - in real life it is impossible, but in the virtual – easily. But you shouldn’t stay for too long in the virtual reality.
