Norse Mythology vs. Greek Mythology There are various mythologies in the global globe, and many of these have things in keeping and also differences. An extremely popular mythology will be Greek mythology, Which many people find out about it or at least understand of it. Another much less popular mythology is normally Norse mythology; Norse mythology may be the religious beliefs of the Norse people. The Norse individuals are the ancient folks of northern European countries (Scandinavia, Iceland, Denmark, Northern Germany etc.) (World Publication 259). A significant difference between Norse mythology and Greek mythology are both cultures sights of the after existence and what happens now there. In Greek mythology there is usually one allotted place for individuals to follow death as soon as they is there they stay right now there for all eternity. In Norse mythology there are four different locations for the lifeless: Folkvang, Valhalla, Helheim, and Ran’s hall or the halls of Ran. Folkvang may be the allotted region for your everyday warrior who passed away and fought and do nothing more. Valhalla is Odin’s hall where 800 of the bravest warriors go and train for the coming of Ragnarok (literally the ending of the gods or the finish of the world) (Wikipedia online). Helheim generally is the house or house of Hel; Hel may be the goddess of the “underworlds” Niflheim (land of fire and heat) and Helheim. Helheim may be the place where person who didn’t die “gloriously”(Wikipedia online) or in fight goes, those that died from diseases, incidents, later years, etc. Ran may be the goddess of the ocean and the drowned. She actually is thought to sink ships and gather the drowned in a net and consider them to her hall where they dwell generally there. In Greek mythology each goes to the underworld (or Hades) plus they are then separated and possibly surely got to Tartarus (hell) or the Elysian fields (heaven) (Globe Reserve 257). Folkvang, Valhalla, Helheim, and The Halls of Ran are four different areas in the world of Norse mythology where as Hades is usually one and Tartarus and the Elysian areas are two locations within Hades. Also each place in Norse mythology is founded on four various kinds of deaths, not really by how you action (apart from Valhalla) but by how you passed away. Where as in Greek mythology there exists a subconscious bad and the good categorizing of your deeds and activities during your life instead of how you passed away. Another difference may be the creatures. In Greek mythology.
