In 1953, a book/play known as the Crucible was published. It was written by Arthur Miller as a allegory of the McCarthyism era. It talks about the causes and effects of the Salem witch trials from the late 1600's. The story is told in a manner that made the people of this 50's realize how mad they were really acting. Back in 1994, two Rwandan tribes had been fighting each other to the death. One was called the Tutsi tribe and another was the Hutu tribe. All these clans differed only marginally. The Tutsi were taller, had darker skin, also broader noses. The Hutu were shorter, had lighter skin, and also slimmer noses. This is the difference between them however they fought for about 3 months until nearly half of the Tutsi were slaughtered. What a happy story. But anyways, what exactly do these two things need to do with one another? They both dealed with witch hunts of sorts. The Crucible actually was about the witch hunts.
