The Giver begins as the ordinary tale of an eleven-year-outdated boy named Jonas. Whenever we meet the protagonist, he is cautious about the Ceremony of Twelve, of which he'll be assigned his work. Although he has no clue as to what job he may be assigned, he's astonished when he's selected to be the Receiver of Memory. He learns that it's an operating job of the best honor, one which needs him to bear physical discomfort of a magnitude beyond anyone’s encounter. As the tale progresses, we realise that the culture in it isn't as ordinary since it appears. Among the inklings that people get that something is normally unusual is when the writer describes elephants as “imaginary creatures”. Afterwards we learn that “community” can be governed by a Committee of Elders, the most crucial of whom may be the Receiver of Memory. Become it careers or spouses or kids people’s, this Committee exercises authority over everything. Pain, battle, hatred and deceit usually do not exist. Many people are polite and honest incredibly. It looks an utopia. Nevertheless, as Jason’s training teaches him, this is simply not the full case. His teacher, the Receiver of Memory, who tells Jonas to call him the Giver, transmits memories of the distant past to him. It really is through these remembrances that Jonas discovers this is of snow, war, love and pain. The Giver tells him these things existed prior to the people chose to head to “Sameness”. Ever since, they quit those things in trade for a world free from discrimination, pain and crime. However, realising the need for wisdom gained through experience, the Receiver was selected by them to bear the responsibility of all memories for them.
